Chitato Go for Real

A chorus of young people chase their own version of real, on a stage, on a trail, in a car at night, and none of them stop moving.

The Film

The film strings together several chapters of the same idea: young Indonesians going for what's real instead of performing it. A guy throws himself into a house-show crowd, two friends hike into a misty pine forest trading a bag of chips and a joke, a couple drives through the city at night. The connective tissue isn't a plot, it's a rap-sung hook, pergi sendirian, pergi bareng teman, ikutin kata hati, that turns each vignette into a verse of the same anthem.

The Craft

Cut like a music video, the film leans on its soundtrack to carry momentum rather than dialogue, moving in short, high-energy bursts between locations and moods, gig-lit crowd surfing, sunlit pine forest, neon-lit city night drive. The forest passages breathe the most, wide shots of trees and drifting light giving the backpacking pair room to move before the edit snaps back to tempo, and the grade keeps a warm, naturalistic palette throughout so the real potato product logic underneath the youth-culture footage stays visually consistent.

The Cast

The film is carried by an ensemble of young, non-celebrity-presenting performers rather than a single lead, each fronting a different vignette, a stage performer, a pair of hiking friends, a couple on a night drive, cast to read as ordinary Indonesian youth rather than models, which fits the #GOFORREAL premise that the invitation to be real is open to anyone.
