The Film
The film opens cold on a khaki-uniformed official lecturing straight to camera, unpacking a nine-letter acronym for the correct procedure to pay vehicle tax, each letter landing on screen in bold kinetic type as he drags his exhausted nephew through the ordeal at home. It plays as a straight-faced parody of government PSA formats, right down to the deadpan delivery, before the joke turns: Ridwan Kamil and Sri Mulyani step in as themselves to recommend the actual shortcut, Tokopedia's E-Samsat.
The Craft
Shot as single-camera sitcom coverage inside a modest, warmly lit living room, the film leans on static and handheld setups that stay locked on the official's face for maximum deadpan effect. Comic timing is carried by the editing as much as the performance: quick cuts between his exhausting explanation and his nephew's growing exasperation, punctuated by oversized green letter cards that pop in on beat with each syllable of the acronym. The tonal pivot to the real officials is handled as a clean cutaway to framed, captioned video inserts, keeping the parody and the endorsement visually distinct.
The Cast
The unnamed official carries the film with broad, committed deadpan energy, playing every absurd instruction as if it were sacred procedure, while his equally unnamed nephew supplies the exasperated straight-man reaction that sells the joke. Ridwan Kamil, then Governor of West Java, and Sri Mulyani, Minister of Finance, appear as themselves in captioned video inserts, lending the punchline real institutional weight.
